smolagents is Hugging Face's minimal Python library for building LLM agents that write their actions as executable Python code. It supports CodeAgent and ToolCallingAgent, multi-agent hierarchies, MCP/LangChain tools, sandboxed execution, and any model provider via LiteLLM.
